Another Shitty Story = ASS Piku, a Bollywood film got applauds when the story teller touched a shitty subject like problems of constipation and old age in a witty style. However, when a school boy actually recorded the process of shitting at school, got reprimanded. It was early morning; the school bus was already at the corner. As Pat put on his socks, wore his Nike sports shoes, tied the lace and hit the pavement to board his bus to school. Monday morning blues turned out to be Monday morning quarterback. The bus accelerated to maintain time, increasing Pat’s tummy growling. Last night’s steak was undergoing peristalsis, embarrassing Pat. Assembly harangued through, increasing Pat’s discomfort to sit through the whole Monday speech by the Principal. As the assemblage got dismissed, Pat sped through the corridors towards the toilets. Film and sequel have become a synonym now. You acquire the rights of the Title and then just add I, II, III….. Being a student of English literature, one of my favorite play is Romeo and Juliet.  Maybe because it’s everyone’s fantasy to die with one’s lover , a sign of ultimate love. But imagine if we had a sequel of Romeo and Juliet? With a totally different ending. What would that be! Romeo & Juliet disowned by their families, travel across modern England in their Caravan. Romeo runs a mobile restaurant and becomes addicted to online poker while Juliet gets entangled in a royal affair. Simple stories and relationships are harder now because conversations become texting, arguments become phone calls and feelings become status update. And #writers end up taking dictations to add layer after layers to their structure and complex plot points.

As a kid had read this story in hindi which was written by Bharatendu Harishchandra, अंधेर नगरी चौपट राजा . The writer, a satirist had written the story on the absurdity of socialism during 1880’s. The scene,  chirpy, bright morning, a monk with his disciple enters a city with empty roads and shops, as night fall the activities begin.....more of a modern day call centre routine. But the goods sold were fixed price, anything and everything for a cheap price. The disciple got excited, he thought he has found a cheap paradise but the monk was worried, he did not share the same thought and wanted to leave the place quickly. Inspite of the monk’s statutory warnings, the disciple stays. After a few days, a thief steals goodies from a rich man’s house and while eloping with the loot, falls victim to the fragile house wall and dies. The thief’s brother files a case against the rich-man of sheer negligence at the King’s court. Now the King summons the rich man and the case ...

Government of India starts a campaign for "swachh bharat" ie Clean India. The campaign sloagn is  Jahaan Shauch, Wahaan Shauchalay! a simple yet well made campaign to educate the masses for a clean toilet and clean environment; after all cleanliness is next to godliness. Fastforward to the current scene in Delhi: This is the result of sanitation staff strike as they have not been given their promised salary and permanent jobs. Which had been one of the mandate for the winning the Delhi constituency by AAP. Stop taking the common man for granted, AAM ADMI PARTY!  Stop playing dirty politics! Instead start acting by fulfiling the pledge and get the dirt cleansed off the streets.

In India a caterpillar is taught not to be a butterfly, it’s a crime! 16 th December 2012, a little after 9.30 pm a young couple board a bus to go to their respective houses. Six men brutally rape the girl, leave an inch of life in her and her friend dumping them on the road in the cold wintery night of New Delhi, India. The girl dies succumbing to the injuries. Indian Judiciary makes a summary judgement with a verdict of death penalty to the five accused. The sixth goes to a rehabilitation camp because of his age. One of the five accused, commit suicide in jail. Supreme court of India put on hold the execution of two accused, Mukesh Singh and Vinay Sharma. BBC makes a documentary – “India’s daughter” and also airs the interview of Mukesh Singh, who without remorse blames the girl for being raped. Few predictions for this year. A hysterical devotion to one's career does not make for happiness or success. Therefore it is wiser to select a profession about which you can be calm, sane and matter of fact. Yes, even if you hate it, it makes for down to earthiness. From each according to his abilties to each according to his needs.- Karl Marx. And as the Ram is considered auspicious with bountiful blessings.  Respect age, but respect experience more. For it isn't age that makes a person wise. Age  simply means a person hasn't died yet. Expereince and the openess to learn from that experience are what gives a person a real understanding. It is a huge tragedy that there are walking encyclopedias but living failures.
