Highlights from Barcelona

Art is what art does, it inspires. By being a sponge, as I traveled to Spain, I was enthralled by the architectural designs of Gaudi and Gothic styles. Art is always and everywhere assosiated to the immortal movement of its time. The Catalonia Cathedral with its Gothic architectural style, completed in 1420, had inspired Antoni Gaudi to create his own master piece the Sagrada Famila. Although Gaudi's seven works have been the signature landmarks which adorn Barcelona and have become UNESCO world heritage sights. His best is the crypt and the nativity facade. In that serene atmosphere while looking at the facade, made me think - Jesus hanging on cross- a symbol of victory in defeat.  Death ends all things so is the comprehensive conclusion of a story. But in religion after the sojourn of a man's traces on earth ends; a new begining of  his significance is noted, marked, calculated and then brought in use. Martyrs always have a special place in history...
