Never Give Up, Great Things Take Time!

Stories of imagination tend to upset those without one. As I set along to pitch my story to various producers, directors and distributors, they had different requirements. Some asked for Stars, some the moon and some said "arre what's there in a name," "I'll buy the story and I may share the credit with you". I packed my bag and said thank you.

I have stories, without Stars, without the Moon, but with real people who dare to dream and take the journey to achieve them. Like Hari and Shibu, taking a break from their weaving class, roaming in their half pants near kalna, a small village town in West bengal but they have dreams of studying in college some day. Kalna is accessible by train and road. Its some 81 kms from Howrah railway station. Its main attractions are Sidesheshwari Kali bari, established in 668 AD, by Rishi Amburish, first time the Goddess Kali was worshiped with earthern pots and the idol is made by a single Neem log. The other major attraction is the Nav Kailash or 108 Shiv Mandir built in 1809. The temple structure has two circles, one circle consists of 74 temples and the second one has 34. The former has white marbles and black shivlings and the latter consists of  only white marbles. While you stand in the centre, you can see all the shivlings.
Apart from the rice mills and cold storages, hand woven fabric still remains one of the main occupation. Kids of 8 to 12 years are needed to weave meticulously in various intricate designs the gorgeous Jamdani's.Thin, small fingers with sharp eyes weave 9-12 hours daily.

Karim, is a footware mender, sitting at a cross road at Khulna, its in Bangladesh. His dream is to play someday in the international cricket team of Bangladesh. Every day he wakes up 5.30 in the morning and practices his bowling at the back street of his "choto ghor" a one roomed, tiled shack. He has been following the same routine for last six years now and says will continue till he finally gets to the selector's to check him out.
These real life unsung heros give one lesson, that dreams doesn't become reality through magic, it takes sweat, determiation and hard work.
