Looking through Shades

God created the world, oh its called the "Big Bang Theory" and man classified it.

Q. Foxes, Jackals & Wolves are classified by scientists as three separate species. Expalin Why?

The answer which is written on this sheet is by a 11 year old. Which made me laugh and then think.
Classification in matter has made man categorise things. It has simplified life but along with the simplifications, it has given way to theory of inequality.

Inequality is in news. Inequality in education institutions, job market, marriage market, networking or social interactions, opportunities to progress in one's life, more or less border on the phrase- inequality.

Man's impulse for equality is natural but his reactions aren't. Few incidences like suicide by Rohith Vemula, pointed fingers at class discrimination in India, its prevalence even in urban education institutes. The JNU incident, its reaction expressed as issue, controversy, outrage.

Observing the incidences, realised about the human psyche. We accept inequalities if we believe them to be fair. If the average person is on a rise, he or she wouldn't mind inequality in society.
John Rawls' book Theory of Justice, explains- "a well ordered society designs institutions in such a way that advantages of the affluent are perceived to be a reward for improving the situations of the worst off; then people will not regard inequality as unjust."
Karl Marx warned the humanity- on the idea of a world in which there is equality of result is not only unattainable but its dangerous, examples Soviet Russia  and Mao's China but at the same time capitalism & democracy leaves much to be desired.

Inequality is a problem in the developed West too. Jobs have been slashed, youth'sare jobless; but coming back to India, as this is the budget season, the fight for equality of opportunity in job market, education, security and health should continue.
