The Coming of XII

December, the month announces the end of a whole calendar year.
Ends charter new beginnings.

Before I talk about new beginnings, it is said all's well that ends well.
But often Ends tuck in them, the play of both, good and bad moments just like for Writer's, their crafts and characters, Hero- Villain.
All literature, films, shows, plays, novels are driven by Hero/s and Villain/s.

Characters are the tools of writers to move forward their story engine.

While crafting them, the compositions need to shine through.

What is the situation the character is in, is it a brightening dawn or darkening skies of autumn?

The characters while  being crafted may be suffering from a controlled burn or a raging blaze.

The inner turmoil, all great writers bring their conflict and let the Character spell it.

Because while crafting, the reality is, we actually rarely know what we want until we come face
to face with inescapable situations.

Something similar to Life. It tests one, on every turn and event.

A very common human trait is in the event that we have worked to establish a thing, one that does not prove to be what we really wanted, we suddenly wish for something else - usually something simple and more manageable.

On the other hand, those moments and objects that we come to hold most dear, are those which spring upon us in ways that we never would have expected.

We strive to control the factors surrounding our traditions, rituals, and memories, but it’s when we take a step back and observe that which is, rather than that which we desire to be, that we understand the less control we attempt to invoke, the more pleasant and more palatable the result.

But-Life is not a sequence of planned events, rather it is a vast series of unexpected realities,
 at times, beyond our control.

More than authors, we are interpreters translating the signals and stimuli that cross our sensory paths.

The more we can speak to these events, the more we may feel a sense of control.
But, every event and experience that we encounter contains the predictable inevitably of the unpredictable.

We never know when the events before us will drastically shift in a different direction.
It is these moments the character’s test comes through.

It is these moments, in stories, which makes a Hero shine and the Villain fall.

Wish, Life would be so simple!

Now coming to the raging issue of Rape.

December, reminds us of the brutal rape incident which happened on the 16th of 2012, that shook India and Delhi attained the term- Rape capital.

What happened?
The message communicated was
Rape is a Crime.
But has that stopped Rape?
No.

Why?

The Judiciary gives Judgement.
The Police Executes orders.
The Media Communicates.
People Believe.
Society Shapes.

What?

Hero and Villain
Victim and Predator

Now from Predator/ Villain’s point of view,
Rape is crime, but the Victim should not be left to talk about the crime.
क्यूंकि मुर्दे  बोला नहीं करते. (Dead do not talk)

कानून सजा सुनती है
पर दरअसल सजा कब और कैसे होती है वह कोई नहीं जानता.

Laws get framed, how its enforced, implemented and executed. Address this issue.

Let 2019,  Hyderabad rape-case bring a charter to prevent sex crimes.
