The Streaming Rowdies

Once the night sky was glittered.
And the jubilant people were busy taking pictures and selfies.

The attack was sudden, rapid, virulent
the rowdies were able to fool the most vigilant of guards.

The symptoms were not straightforward
And the bodyguards un-prepared for this fast, methodical standoff.

Wise say, precaution is better than cure.

Donning masks, washing hands, imposing quarantine
Efforts were to barricade the infection to heighten.

But alas! the city’s sky was overcast with the fear of a pandemic.
Few experts even called this biogenic.

Once the vibrant malls, businesses and schools, gave a deserted look.
Hazmat suits, roamed the streets and waded the brooks
Rounding up the usual suspects- rodents, birds, flies, mosquitoes, even romaine lettuce.
Whatever corrupted the lungs, the culprit had to be booked;

Who would have suspected the fungus?
The big data, had no records of the micro-spores their lengths and breadths in micrometers.
The overlook was called incidental!

Time flew, pathogens grew,
more locations got affected; the result announced was an epidemic.

Chairs were pushed, brows got bruised,
Finally, the big-micro-goggled eye caught the culprit microspores being smuggled into the lungs.

On a Petri dish, the contagion was caught and brought to court.
Thus began the discovery,

who would have thought!
Fungal pneumonia was never contagious and rarely rapid.
But often endurance have some rebels, The Mutants!

In previous reports only the immunosuppressed were at risk.
And, fungal infections always responded to antifungals.

But the mutiny had erupted,
the knights with special armor, shiny swords were battle ready.

Super smooth prick!
a fine steel needle and the flushing fluid gushing in….

The infusion therapy had the Knights cornered
halting the infection moving onwards
The Virus rowdies need to be banned
So that they have not another chance to stand.

Pray we have the antidote soon.
To make folks go back to normalcy tune.
